September Events!

September 10th: WXAC's Concert Series at the Pond #2-Djangoholics Anonymous
Albright's official college radio station offers an eclectic mix of music, from the bumping rhythms of Latin DJ's in the morning to a range of student shows in the evenings that feature classic rock, '80's hits, country, alternative, and more.  Wednesday nights in September are perfect for a picnic.  Grab your friends and dinner-to-go, and join us at Sylvan Pond from 6-8 p.m. for a different style of music each week (Djangoholics Anonymous's style will be "gypsy jazz").
*Wed., September 10, 6-8 p.m., Sylvan Pond

September 30th: International Film Series #3: Paranoid Park
(2007, 85 min.) by Gus Van Sant
Paranoid Park is a swooping, skateboarding, free zone where young men learn to fly. It’s also a haunting, voluptuously beautiful portrait of a teenage boy who, after being suddenly caught in midflight, falls to earth. Like most of Mr. Van Sant’s films, Paranoid Park is about bodies at rest and in motion, and about longing, beauty, youth and death, and as such, as much about the artist as his subject. It is a modestly scaled triumph without a false or wasted moment.”—Manohla Dargis, New York Times.
*Tues., September 30, 7:30 p.m., Klein Lecture Hall
